This devotional journey of encouragement and healing grew out of a challenging time of huge distress and ended up becoming one of the biggest blessings of my life so far.
I owe this to the transformational power of the Lord Jesus Christ!
A Little Background
In 2016 I resigned from a long term teaching job to relocate to a new and larger city that provided better services for my autistic daughter. I was newly divorced and feeling exhausted and isolated. A few months after our move, my daughter became very unwell with a mystery illness and for 3 months she would not get out of bed.
During this time, after shaking my fist at the Lord on a number of occasions and asking Him "Why are you doing this?" I came to a place of surrender, making the choice to submit to and trust my Creator with my deepest pain. This changed everything! One of the most amazing things about being in relationship with Jesus is that He is available 24/7. So, I started to schedule regular time where I communicated with Him. I would pray and imagine I was in a beautiful garden with Him. I came to know this as the Garden of Promise, so named for the promises of grace and goodness found liberally throughout the Scriptures. I would write the words Jesus gave me. As I listened for His voice, trusted He was with me and allowed Him to comfort me, the words literally poured out of me and onto the page.
About a week or two into this process I knew that these writings would become a book.
From My Heart To Yours
This book is the result of these communications with Jesus. My spirit became strengthened, the sense of isolation lifted and my faith was deepened in a way that I cannot even begin to express. Jesus spoke new life into my being My feelings of isolation lifted and I felt myself soothed and replenished by spending this time with the Lord Jesus.
So...If you feel lost and isolated, as though you don't matter....
