Not Just Any Baby - December 25, 2019

Writer: Meredith SwiftMeredith Swift

Prophecy Fulfilled

Every Christmas Day we celebrate the birth of a baby. Not just any baby, but a baby who would grow up to be the Saviour of the World - the Lord Jesus Christ.

His birth was prophesied in the Bible thousands of years before it occurred (for example, Isaiah 9.6 and 11.1), in great detail - including where the birth would take place (Micah 5:2).

God's Greatest Gift To Humankind

When Jesus was born, God gave humankind the greatest gift of all - His only begotten Son - because He loved us so much. When Jesus died on the cross for us, it was the same. God gave humankind the greatest gift of all - His only begotten Son - because He loved us so much.

And we get to choose whether or not we accept this gift. God won't force us because real love is given freely. But if we do accept the gift of Jesus, we will never again be separated from God. Jesus is the only way to come to His Father - as we read in John 14:6 which says: Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

The One Gift That Can't Be Bought

This Christmas, you will have gifts wrapped up under the tree for the special people in your life to feel happy, appreciated and loved.

But have you considered the one gift that can't be bought, that can't be wrapped up and placed under the Christmas tree? Have you considered the one gift that is the reason we celebrate - the gift of God's own son Jesus, given especially for you? Jesus is a free gift who is absolutely priceless in His love and absolutely matchless in His power to transform lives. He meets us at our deepest need - He is the most incredible gift of all, tailor made especially for each of us.

May all who read this blog post experience the blessing of the greatest gift of all this Christmas - the gift of Jesus.

A joyous and peaceful Christmas to you all.
